Divorce and Family Law Document Preparation in Orlando

Most family cases in Florida do not fall apart because someone lost an argument. They stall because a form was wrong. We prepare Florida Supreme Court Approved Family Law Forms and supporting documents, and e file them, for people representing themselves in Orange County and across Florida. For uncontested divorces, Inés stays with you throughout the process, from preparation and filing through the closing of the case.

Family Law Documents We Prepare

Anything that runs through a Florida family court on approved forms, and the supporting paperwork the Clerk expects alongside it. That covers contested and uncontested divorce, simplified dissolution, Parenting Plans and Time-Sharing Schedules, child support and support related modifications, paternity actions, guardianship, contempt and enforcement, relocation petitions, step parent adoptions, and domestic violence injunctions.

A family law case usually takes more than a single petition. The supporting documents depend on your situation, and the approved forms get revised, so we work from the current editions rather than an old download.

We prepare Florida Supreme Court Approved Family Law Forms and supporting documents based on the document-preparation services requested and the information provided. Financial affidavits, for example, come in a short form and a long form, and the form instructions tie them to gross annual income. At Quality Paralegal Services, Inés prepares the version based on the information you give her and reviews the completed documents with you.

For uncontested divorces, Inés stays with you throughout the process, from preparation and filing through the closing of the case.

Can I Use Document Preparation for Contested and Uncontested Family Law Matters?

Yes. QPS provides nonlawyer document-preparation services for people representing themselves, including both contested and uncontested Family Law matters. If you need legal advice or legal representation, you should consult with an attorney.

The state publishes approved forms so people can file without an attorney, and thousands do it every year. What many of those people look for is someone to prepare the forms and supporting documents accurately from the information they provide, and get them filed.

For uncontested divorces, Inés stays with you throughout the process, from preparation and filing through the closing of the case. In contested matters, she remains available throughout the process if you need additional documents prepared. QPS does not provide legal representation and does not assist during hearings, mediation, discovery or trial.

Inés has spent many years working in the legal field alongside attorneys in the Orlando area, and she brings that experience to every file. We are not attorneys and we do not give legal advice. What we do is the document work, carefully, for a flat fee you know in advance.

Timeline for an Uncontested Divorce

In Orange County

Court cases run on the court's calendar, and Inés gives you a realistic estimate on the first call. Florida law sets a floor of twenty days between filing the petition and the court entering a final judgment, so nothing finishes in a week.

From there the timeline depends on how quickly the other party responds, how busy the division is, and the court's own schedule. QPS does not guarantee how quickly a court will act.

Simplified dissolution is a narrower Florida procedure with conditions set by the court. Those conditions include no minor or dependent children together, no pregnancy, agreement on how property and debts are split, both parties giving up alimony, and both parties attending the final hearing. Inés prepares the documents for the procedure you select, based on the information you provide.

Contested cases run longer, and nobody can predict them.

Parenting Plan, Time-Sharing and Child Support Document Preparation

Yes, and this is where getting the numbers right matters more than the wording.

Florida does not use the word custody in its statutes anymore. It uses time-sharing and parental responsibility, spelled out in a Parenting Plan and Time-Sharing Schedule the court has to approve. The plan covers the schedule, holidays, how decisions get made, and how the parents communicate. We prepare it on the approved form based on the terms you provide, so the document reflects what the parents agreed to in clear language.

Child support runs off a statutory guidelines worksheet, not a negotiation. It takes both parents' net incomes, the number of children, health insurance and daycare costs, and the number of overnights each parent has. That last figure is not a detail. Once a parent's overnight count crosses the statutory threshold, the calculation changes formulas entirely and the number can move substantially.

Modifications work the same way. If your income changed or the schedule changed, the worksheet gets rerun and the supplemental petition gets filed. We handle both.

Does QPS Provide Mediation Services?

No. QPS does not provide mediation services, and Inés does not assist or represent anyone during mediation.

Mediation is a session with a neutral third party whose job is to help the parties reach an agreement. If the parties reach an agreement through mediation, Inés may assist with preparing documents based on the written agreement provided to her, such as an amended Parenting Plan and Time-Sharing Schedule, a marital settlement agreement, or a revised support worksheet.

If you need legal advice or legal representation, you should consult with an attorney.

Can I Apply for a Filing Fee Waiver?

Florida has a formal process for people who cannot afford the fee, and it is one of the first things we discuss.

The Clerk of Court charges a filing fee to open a dissolution case, and for a household already under strain that number stops people before they start. Florida law lets you apply for a determination of civil indigent status. You file an application with the Clerk disclosing income, dependents, assets, and expenses, and the Clerk decides whether to defer or waive the filing fee.

We prepare that application as part of the job for clients who want to apply. Not as an upsell, not as a separate service. It is one of the things we discuss in the first conversation.

This is the part of the work Inés is most stubborn about. People who are already choosing between rent and a filing fee are exactly the people who end up representing themselves badly, or not filing at all. Going the extra step on a fee waiver application costs us twenty minutes and can be the difference between a case getting filed and a case sitting in a drawer.
